Association of placental laterality with pre-eclampsia

Background: The aim of this study was to observe association between placental laterality and pre-eclampsia in pregnant women. Methods: In retrospective study, hospital records 300 patients who were admitted our with mild or severe January 2019 February 2021 analysed. Results: Ultrasonography performed on these women 18 24 weeks revealed that 177 (59%) had a lateral placenta 123 (41%), central placenta, indicating occurred more frequently position. Also, primigravida (first-time moms) than multigravida (second subsequent pregnancies), 132 (44%) primigravida, 106 (35%) second gravida 62 (21%) multigravidas. Conclusions: This the majority placentas positioned laterally, correlation two.
